Biscay day 1.
Set off in a slight sea fog today at just after 11am.
After a brief burst of great wind we were almost becalmed so had to motor for a cpupoe of hours to get out away from the Lizard peninsula. Sailed past Porthkerris beach our old diving haunt on the way.
Wind picked up and we deployed Jarvis (the tiller pilot) and eventually the hydrovane (Vincent).
Had agreed to go along with another boat Anjo who are also on their way to Spain.
Very pleasent afternoon with not much swell but limited wind. Got visited by at least two groups of Dolphins who played itn the bow wave for about half an hour.
Had a sandwich tea at sea as we got ready to start our night watches.
Good progress so far, 30nm since 11 am , it's now 6pm .
