Arc day 210:11-12-2021

Arc day 210:11-12-2021
Finally a day of tradewind sailing. Winds between 15 and 20 knots, following seas and waves about 2m.

We spooled out about 70% of the Headsails and zipped along.

Otherwise today was quite quiet, no exciting !arine life, quiet that is until we got a bite on our fishing line! Frantic attempts to reel in the fish failed and alas it escaped but we hope we might catch something tomorrow.

Late in the day the sea got a bit choppy, and a choppy 3m sea is not comfortable.

We had to retire the windvane and return to the tiller pilot for steering. It preceded an evening of squalls and we had to wind in the Headsails daily hard while rain pelted from the stern at 27knots. Quite fun watching the squalls passing by on radar. Apart from being quite soaked it was fine. So far so good.

Tomorrow we are anticating gettig to 1000Nm remaining and will be having a party for the half way point. After that about 8 days to sail for St Lucia if all goes well.
