ARC Day 25: Squall country
Another good downwind day, kind of the day we expected to have lots of on this passage of the weather hasn't been so unusual. Wind about 20knots and waves only about 2m from mostly astern.
Big news today was that we are no longer alone. Over night we passed another yacht and by morning out AIS display had three other vessels in range. One of these was l our friends from Zeester. We chatted with them on the radio and slowly closed the gap between us during the day. By nightfall we were only 5Nm apart. Very cool.
After dark the clouds which had threatened rain all day finally delivered and we both had watches of squall dodging. The. Pics show the plotter logs with winds jumping to 30knots as sense rain showers pass us by. Frantic furling in of the Headsails when this happens is about all we can do but so far this works pretty well.
537Nm to go.....
