10-Jan-2022 : A week at anchor
Wow, so we have now been at anchor in Rodney bay for 6 days having left the Marina on the 4th. It's been intermittent wind and the direction has shifted a few times.
My big worry was that our anchor ( only 15 kg ) would be too small to hold as we have not really tested it much before this. I have dived the anchor every day to check it's properly dug in and not dragging.
Thankfully it's well dig in and not moving. Yesterday I put a big piece of broken coral on top of it and today it was pretty much in the same place with the coral sitting on the sand next to it. That's after a night of 22 knot winds so we are feeling a lot more confident of our anchor now.
We have to stay here for a little longer to sort out some boat stuff like properly leaning the watermaker and dealing with he permeated sanitary hoses in the head(yuck).
Thanks for keeping us up-to-date with the adventure, what an amazing experience. I hope the anchor continues to do its job. All the best for the next phase of the trip.
